Discover Monaco
Monaco is the world's second-smallest country (after Vatican City) but one of the most glamorous! This tiny principality on the French Riviera Mediterranean coast is only 2 square kilometers but packs in luxury, history, and excitement. Monaco is famous for the Monte Carlo Casino, a stunning Belle Époque building where James Bond movies were filmed, and the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, where race cars zoom through the streets in one of motorsport's most prestigious and challenging races.
The Grimaldi royal family has ruled Monaco for over 700 years, making it one of the world's oldest monarchies. Prince Albert II continues traditions started by his glamorous parents Prince Rainier and Princess Grace Kelly (the American actress who became a princess). Monaco has no income tax, attracting wealthy residents, and the yacht-filled harbor is iconic. Despite its tiny size, Monaco has a rich cultural life with the Monaco Orchestra, opera house, Oceanographic Museum, and beautiful gardens cascading down hillsides. From the Royal Palace perched on a rock to cutting-edge ocean research, Monaco shows us how a tiny nation can have enormous presence and style!
