Discover Romania
Romania is an Eastern European country of medieval castles, painted monasteries, and wild Carpathian Mountains! The country is most famous for Bran Castle, often called "Dracula's Castle," perched dramatically on a rocky cliff in Transylvania. While Bram Stoker's fictional vampire never actually lived here, the real historical figure Vlad the Impaler (who inspired Dracula) ruled nearby. The medieval towns of Brașov and Sighișoara have beautifully preserved Gothic and baroque architecture with cobblestone streets and colorful buildings.
Romania offers incredible natural beauty: the Carpathian Mountains with hiking trails and wildlife including bears and wolves, the Danube Delta (Europe's best-preserved delta and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve) teeming with birds and fish, and scenic countryside dotted with traditional villages where horse-drawn carts still travel. Romanian culture celebrates folk traditions, with beautifully embroidered costumes and lively music. The painted monasteries of Bucovina feature stunning exterior frescoes that have survived for centuries. Romanian cuisine includes sarmale (cabbage rolls), mici (grilled sausages), and sweet cozonac bread. From vampire legends to vibrant traditions, Romania shows us the magic of Eastern Europe!
