Ukraine

Ukraine is a large and beautiful country in Eastern Europe with a deep history, rich culture, and incredibly resilient people! Kyiv, the capital, sits along the Dnieper River and is one of Europe's oldest cities, with golden-domed churches, ancient monasteries, and vibrant streets. Ukraine's countryside is filled with sunflower fields, wheat farms (Ukraine is called the "breadbasket of Europe"), and charming villages.

Ukrainian culture celebrates music, dance, and colorful traditions—embroidered vyshyvanka shirts, Easter pysanky eggs, and folk songs are treasured nationwide. Ukrainian cuisine features hearty dishes like borscht (beet soup), varenyky (dumplings), and salo (cured pork fat). The Carpathian Mountains offer skiing and hiking, while the Black Sea coast has beaches and historic ports.

Ukraine has faced many challenges throughout history, including occupation and conflict, but the Ukrainian spirit of independence and determination never fades.
