Meet the Can Do Kids Band:
Inspiring Global Learning Through Character-Based Adventures
Learning goes far beyond textbooks. Meet Can Do Kids Worldwide’s five vibrant characters: Ace, Amy, Oz, Lin and Ravi. They bring global learning to life for children around the world. Each one represents a unique culture, personality and perspective, creating an engaging way to explore diversity, build empathy and inspire classroom engagement.
These characters are more than just fun personalities. They are cultural role models who show that being curious, kind and open to the world is something to celebrate.
Ace: The Rhythm of the Ocean
Ace was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and spends time in both South Africa and Jamaica. He grew up loving the sea and is happiest when near the water. As the drummer of the band, Ace brings rhythm, energy and a positive outlook wherever he goes. Inspired by reggae, soul and rhythm and blues, Ace discovered percussion through jam sessions with friends and never looked back. He believes that success comes from hard work and a great attitude.
Amy: The Voice of Empathy
Amy is from Carmel, California, and now lives in Virginia. She is the band’s lead vocalist and carries a deep sense of empathy and fairness. Amy’s passion for singing started with a hairbrush and a dream. Today she leads the band with harmony and heart. Whether she is hiking in Yellowstone or singing by a campfire, Amy draws creativity from nature and the people around her. Her values of understanding and kindness shine through in everything she does.
Ravi: The Bassline of Culture
Ravi lives in New Delhi, India, and is the youngest in a large extended family. With connections in London and a love for food and music, Ravi blends traditional Indian influences like Bollywood and sitar with global sounds. He plays bass in the band and has a thoughtful, respectful approach to travel. His quiet curiosity and love for collecting global recipes help students see how cultures can be explored through both taste and sound.
Lin: The Heart of Harmony
Lin lives in Beijing, China, and has studied in Hong Kong, Australia and England. She is the organised one in the group, playing the keytar and a range of classical instruments including the violin and cello. Lin sees music as a language of its own and believes in the power of imagination, storytelling and discipline. Her love of books and cultural curiosity make her an inspiring role model for students who enjoy learning and reflecting.
Oz: The Spirit of Adventure
Oz was born in London but now calls Australia home. He lives on the Gold Coast and spends his time surfing, exploring and playing guitar. With a passion for nature, extreme sports and traditional Aboriginal music, Oz brings high energy and deep respect for the environment to the band. He plays both lead and rhythm guitar and believes in living boldly and treating people and the planet with care.
